RUNG is a free online version of Court Piece — the trick-taking card game known across South Asia as Rang, Rung or Coat Piece. It is a 2 v 2 partnership game played with a standard 52-card deck, where one player calls the trump suit (“Rung”) and the two teams race to win tricks and whole hands. We built RUNG to be the version that feels right: quick to get into, faithful to how the game is actually played at the table, and fair.
What you can do here
- Play in your browser — jump into a real 2 v 2 match in seconds at playrung.online/play, no download needed.
- Play with friends — create a private room, share a link, and sit down together from any device.
- Practise against bots — learn the game, or warm up, against opponents that play a sensible hand.
- Climb the ranks — ranked seasons, a rating that remembers how you play, and a leaderboard.
Alongside the game we keep a growing set of guides — how to play, the regional variants, a glossary of terms, and the difference between Court Piece and Coat Piece — written for both new players and people who grew up on the game.
How RUNG stays free
RUNG is free to play and funded by advertising. We show ads around the game and on these pages; we do not charge to play, and there is no real-money gambling of any kind. How advertising works, and the choices you have over it, are set out in our Privacy Policy.
Who makes it
RUNG is built and operated by Haider Zaman, an independent developer. It runs on both the web and as an Android app, sharing one set of servers so a match, a rating or a friend list is the same wherever you play.
